PUEBLO CHILE &
FRIJOLE FESTIVAL Pueblo, a town about two hours
south of Denver on Interstate 25, is well known for growing a large variety of
peppers. In the fields east of Pueblo on Business Hwy. 5o, you can find every
kind of pepper imaginable - from bell peppers to yellow wax peppers to sweet
and hot anaheim to jalepeno to the most flavorful of them all, the mirasol
chile pepper or Pueblo chile pepper as the locals refer to it.
This makes Pueblo the perfect location for the Chile and
Frijole Festival.
You will find us, the Mira Sol Chile Corp., on the last weekend of
September, at the annual Chile & Frijole Festival, fire-roasting our chile
and giving out tastes of our products. The weekend's activities include: a
Farmers's Market, live entertainment including marlachi players, food
competitions, an 1800's Mercado (Historic Market), Jalepeno eating contest, Hot
to Trot 5k Run, arts, crafts and lots of great food.
The Annual Chile &
Frijole Festival is a bash only Pueblo, with its eclectic mix of cultures,
could pull off so tastefully. Thousands of people attend this free, family
oriented good time year after year. You won't want to miss the festival's
action or the aromatic cloud of roasted chiles that settle over the plaza
