 Mira Sol
Chile Plant |
| The Mirasol Chile Corporation was started in 1997 by 14 farmers from
the St. Charles Mesa (located in Pueblo, Colorado). The farmland East of the
city of Pueblo is the most productive agricultural area in the state of
Colorado. The warm, dry summers; fertile soil; and quality irrigation water
make the St. Charles Mesa the ideal HOT SPOT for growing Chile. Pueblo Chile
has been growing in the area for many years, beginning as early as 1910 and
possibly earlier. Pueblo Chile is also known as Mira Sol (looking at the sun).
Once the city of Pueblo caught on to the Mesa's product, they helped turn
Pueblo Chile into one of Colorado's main attractions. One of the biggest
supporters of Pueblo Chile is the Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, who created a
Chile Festival at the end of September. If you would like
more information about the festival, call 1-800-233-3446. |
